INFORMATION DISPLAY BOARD
On Friday, May 15th, 2009 we launched our map of the locality in the village square, which should benefit tourists and also those people looking for addresses of the newer estates around the village. On the reverse side of the display board we have a profile of the life of the late Dr. Brendan O'Regan, who was of course born in the village, and lived in what is now the Old House. We also put up a plaque on the Olde House to mark Dr. O'Regan's birthplace. We would like to acknowledge with thanks the financial support of Clare County council, and in particular of Ger Dollard, in the erection of this display board, and of Shannon Development for sponsorship of the plaque.

SURVEY
The results of the survey were analysed to form part of the 2005-2008 plan for the village of Sixmilebridge. Shannon Road, Oakwood, Mount Ievers, Rowan View, Beechwood Grove, Inis Orga and Cluain Drochid have all set up residents' Associations and have been working in their own areas to clean up, cut grass, plant flowers etc. Cappagh Lodge led the field in setting up their residents' association, and continue to keep up the good work. This is the whole idea of Tidy Towns, getting people to become involved in their own area. Well done to all involved! We would encourage householders of the newer developments to get together and form their own Residents' Associations. Apart from working together to make their own area more attractive, you could take a leaf out of the current residents' associations' books and organise your own Christmas parties, summer barbeques etc!

The Sixmilebridge Tidy Towns committee would like to thank all those who contributed to the village's improved performance in last year's Tidy Towns competition. Results are available on another page. We have come up considerably in the last three years, which is no mean achievement. We hope to do even better this coming year.
We are also participating in Clare County Council's project to oversee and monitor the Recycyling facilities, reporting when bins are full, etc. We would ask for eveyone's participation and support in keeping the Recycling facilities area tidy, and not to put domestic rubbish in or near the bins.
Daffodil planting:
This was a lovey project and the results are there for all to see at this time of year. Perhaps residents could plant their own dispays also to add some glorious colour in Springtime??
